Who is not a lover of pop culture and the media?? Duh everyone is! According to Harpers Bazaar, “We are often influenced by what surrounds us–and so it makes perfect sense that, as we were all spending more time in front of the TV and less time socializing with friends, we found ourselves being inspired by what we saw on screen”. Almost everyone in the world is influenced by the entertainment industry in some form, either if it is a book, movie or tv show. In this blog, we’ll focus on the latest tv shows. Stop that Instagram scroll and start to look at TikTok, Pinterest, even this post and re-binge your favorite tv shows for your next outfit inspiration. From the 70’s style to the TV fashion trends now, this post has a variety for each person’s style. Here are some four ways you can incorporate your favorite tv shows into your everyday style.
1. DAISY JONES & THE SIX (70s vibes)

“Who’s Daisy Jones?” If you want to get back into the groove of rock n roll and all things 70s, definitely check out Daisy Jones & the Six. Daisy Jones & the Six is a book released back in 2019 by the author Taylor Jenkins Reid and is now a TV adaptation brought by Prime Video and Hello Sunshine. Flare Jeans, fuzzy long clothes, flowy dresses, and lots of colorful accessories bring that 70s look. Since the show is on Prime Video, Amazon linked the characters' looks to get their exact wardrobe. Alongside Amazon, Free People launched a Daisy Jones & the Six collection, giving all the 70s vibes, as a TikTok lifestyle creator, Selena Schorken stated, “total 70s for the summer”! Although these are good options to find some 70s fashion pieces, your local thrift store can carry these fashion pieces too! Rock on and go find some groovy looks!!!
2. EUPHORIA (Y2K vibes)

“You're my soulmate!” Although the topics portrayed in Euphoria are very serious, you cannot deny how iconic and revolutionary it has been for pop culture..especially fashion-wise. Throughout the show, you definitely see the recurrence trend of bright colors like blues, pinks, purple and LOTS of glitter and gems, every character has their own individuality. From a pastel Cassie look to a Skater Rue look. Yes, Euphoria is bold in its fashion choices but just incorporating a pink shirt to your outfit and glitter into your makeup routine can give off that Y2K Euphoria look. Start small, then see from there.
3. GILMORE GIRLS (simple, early 2000s aesthetic)

Throwback it back to the 90s, early 2000s fashion!!! Now I know this isn’t the latest TV show but it is always binge worthy year round! The Gilmore’s were fashion icons then and even now. “Rory didn’t look like the girls you would see on TV during the time” states Alexis Bledel who played Rory Gilmore, lots of Gilmore Girls fashion style comes from the Early 2000s. If you want to achieve the Rory Gilmore core you would find lots of converse, jeans, and basic muted-colored tops and sweaters. Now for the opposite, if you want to channel Loralei Gilmore core you would style lots of jackets, skirts, and collared cool tops. Early 2000s fashion never goes out of style, even on Pinterest there are lots of Gilmore Girls outfit inspo.
4. BRIDGERTON (classy, cottage core vibes)

“Oh!, You are the DIAMOND of the season!!” You may be thinking ‘how can you incorporate 1800s clothing into everyday style, there is no way?!’, the answer is YES, there is a way! With season 3 coming soon, the rise of puffy dresses, corset dresses and tops are back! The way previous seasons(seasons 1 & 2) had people dressing up in puffy-sleeved dresses, pearls, and corsets was a big influence. It was a mix of cottage core and classy style called Regencycore that made everyone run to the stores to get the latest dress. To this day, there is still puffy sleeved dress on the clothes rack and what a great way to find this type of style for the spring season!
As we have more access to social media and pop culture, style is now more evolved. From the earliest TV show tie-in to the latest TV show tie-in, fashion is all around us, as Taylor Swift once said in her song Style, “We never go out of style” as fashion never goes out of style! What the celebrities are wearing, tv show tie-ins, TikTok fashion trends to older style trends, there is such a variety. Whether old trends come back or new ones, the fashion world, the media and style always play together. Start little by little, look at any of the media, be it TikTok or Pinterest–you do not have to change your whole wardrobe overnight. It is fun to experiment with new styles and incorporate new fashion trends but never forget to be true to yourself.
So think of your favorite tv shows and start to incorporate them into your style.
Have fun!
